A Note of Thanks
Dear Scruff: We remember how your organization helped us with neutering feral cats near our house. We adopted two of them as our pets. Hope this small donation helps a little. (Anne and Karl B)

As the old song says, “Baby, it’s cold outside!” January is a mighty cold time of the year. To help community cats stay warm this winter… As temperatures dip below freezing and even colder, community cats face additional challenges to find adequate shelter. If you are providing food and water for community cats and need ideas on how to help them stay warm, please call Scruff at 518-526-3372 for more information. Here is an example of a DIY shelter to get you started: https://www.alleycat.org/resources/how-to-build-an-outdoor-shelter/

Let’s face it, all the holiday goodies and treats can be tough on human tummies and waistlines. What sometimes we forget is that the kitties out there might have tummy trouble, too! We have to face facts, our cats have been known to “get into things“. We definitely do not want that to happen. Here is a very short list of human goodies that cats must avoid: Fatty or spicy foods (might be a good idea for some people, too!) Chocolate (yummy for people, not so for cats) Bones (never, never, never) Everyone at SCRUFF wishes all people and cats out there Happy Holidays!
Our next clinic will take place on Sunday, November 21. If interested in making a spay or neuter appointment for a community cat, please call us at 518-526-3372. Check back again to learn of future spay dates and thank you for your support! To view and download a copy of the Spay Day Schedule in PDF, click here.
