Update: SCRUFF Clinic at APF

June 20, 2021 SCRUFF resumed holding their monthly spay day clinics at the Animal Protective Foundation (APF). Our last in person clinic at APF was March 2020, but we weathered the pandemic and we are back!! There are too many people to thank, but all are appreciated by Team SCRUFF and the cats. Thanks to the veterinarians, vet technicians, volunteers, and trappers we changed the lives of 36 cats at our first clinic in 2021 . We had a very successful and rewarding day. Even though we didn’t have a monthly clinic during 2020, utilizing other options, SCRUFF still spayed, neutered and vaccinated 474 cats!

Another Success Story

We are so pleased to receive a note like this one: My neighbor … had put us in touch as I was figuring out how to deal with neutering our 2 semi-feral kittens. You were so helpful and put my might right. It went swimmingly – even the entrapment – and today out neutered males are perky and comfortable. Thank you, Anna. Thanks, Anna, for keeping us “in the loop”.

Photo From A “SCRUFF Fan”

Every now and then we are lucky enough to see a photo of a cat that has made itself at home with one of our “SCRUFF fan” families.  We recently received this photo of Luna who has been a resident of Guilderland for several years. Luna is NOT a feral cat. However, she was adopted from a local rescue group. We hope you enjoy seeing our pal Luna.

A TNvR Story

We recently received this story and we thought that it was something important to pass on: My husband, neighbors and I rescued 3 kittens born under a shed in Niskayuna.  We also had the mama cat and another black and white male cat, both feral. We fed mama a ton of food which she then fed to her kittens. She moved her kittens and we couldn’t find her for over a week. Finally, she brought them to my house where I had a heated shelter. We got the kittens to Kitten Angels … who got them into a foster. They’ve been adopted into good homes.  Mama and her black and white friend (named Christine and Socks) were trapped with the help of Kitten Angels and were brought to you. They were neutered, spayed and inoculated and returned to us. They are doing well. Thank you so much for helping save their lives. We continue to take care of them and keep them fed, warm and happy. Sincerely, Diane. Thanks, Diane, for telling this great story.
